National Chinese Middle School Drama Competition 2017
The annual National Chinese Middle School Drama Competition ended on June 4th. In this competition, our school drama club won the Silver Best Drama award, Best Performance award, and our school’s Fang Hao student won the Most Outstanding Actress award, Guo Xinyuan, Hua Wei and Huang Keying received the Best Supporting Actor award. Every year we start preparing for the competition from March, but in order to get enough rest for the participants this year, we specifically arranged for them to start preparing two weeks before the game. Our items are also on schedule. This makes everyone happy. Through this competition, whether it is an actor, a behind-the-scenes member or a technician, our feelings change from strangeness to familiarity, from coldness to intimacy, which invisibly enhances our relationship between each other. In order to make this competition more perfect, we invited Teacher Anson to guide us. The theme of our school performance broke the previous style. We used a comedy this year. In this performance we added some more funny language and hilarious plots. From the reaction of the audience, the comedy is obviously more attractive to their eyes! Although it was the first time we played a comedy drama, but the actors were all powerful, and after the professional teaching of the teachers and the attitude of the actors themselves, we were very smooth during the rehearsal. On the day of the competition, we arrived at the Penang City Hall early in the morning and everyone was making the final sprint for the evening competition. There are also many parents and students from our school who came to the scene to support our performance! The competition officially started, and we were all very nervous when it was our turn to play. At the moment the red curtain was closed, everyone finally let go of their heavy hearts and felt more relaxed. The voices of the audience and their applause made us feel very happy. When they gave out the awards, we were nervous all over again.We all hope that our school can get good outcome, and to our relief the results don’t disappoint us! We are really happy about our achievement, but we will continue to work harder to get better results!
